Mark McNairy F/W 2012 Footwear @ Capsule NY

The shoe release of the year for me last year were the A Bathing Ape x Mark McNairy chukka boots, so you can imagine how I felt about seeing all of the new shoes Mark McNairy will be releasing for F/W 2012.  On display were classic wingtip, oxford and chukka silhouettes accented by bold prints, diverse textures and contrasting soles.  The collection as a whole is what I've come to expect from the Mark McNairy New Amsterdam brand- durable and high end construction coupled with bold and fashionable color choices.

The highlight of the season was animal print. We found chukkas in zebra, leopard and tiger prints, all of which were made with a hairy texture for added effect.  We also loved the use of the contrasting soles in blue, brick red, and yellow, on a variety of styles including suede oxfords and full grain leather boots.  Also present in many styles and materials was the traditional wingtip, which is not surprising considering the increasing popularity of the brogue style over the past few seasons.  

So will there be more collaborations in the future?  Mark himself hinted at a possible new collaboration with Bape and images have just leaked of the Pharrell wearing the Mark McNairy x Billionaire Boys Club boots.  Whatever happens, we can't wait! We're looking forwarded to everything that New Amsterdam has in store for the coming year.
