Visiting St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria

St. Anton is a small town in the Tyrol region of the Austrian Alps known for its skiing and even more well known for its apres-ski party atmosphere. Though the town looks quiet and peaceful at first glance, with its traditional architecture and plethora of ski shops, the place really gets going after hours with bars, nightclubs, drunken Brits and even drunker Scandinavians. Being in St. Anton is like experiencing two distinct towns at once, one where skiing and family comes first and a second where an Aussie pushes by you at 10pm smelling of alcohol and still wearing his ski boots.

No matter, I'm here to ski, and lucky for me the snow is excellent and the views are beautiful. The mountain is sizable and boasts ski lifts with heated seats (oh yes). See you on the slopes!
