Gateway to Greece - A Photo Story by Christina T. Hudson

Christina, a huge photography fan and photographer herself, recently reached out to us. She wanted to share photos of her beloved Greece, a scenic country filled with history but one which is currently in the midst of an economic crisis. Christina is here to remind us, through her photos, that despite the recent negative media coverage, in plenty of aspects, Greece remains positive and beautiful. Check out her take on life in Greece in photos, and a few words from the artist below.

A Pittsburgher by birth, I am also half Greek and have spent most of my life in Athens, the capital city of Greece.

Greece has always been a country of contradictions and extremes, and Athens can be a very difficult city. Add the current crisis to that mix and you can see why one might need a different kind of GPS to navigate life here. Photography is that GPS for me. It helps me isloate, understand and appreciate individual pieces of my city and country when the whole picture is out of reach.

It is my hope that one day I will have enough pieces of the puzzle to make up a complete picture of Greece, which is nothing if not multilayered, with layers both beautiful and ugly -- sometimes both at the same time.
