Made in Iran Exhibit Featuring Street Artists Icy and Sot

In the West, and especially here in America, there are sometimes negative connotations associated with Iran due to the unsavory reports about their leaders in our media.  But this Thursday you can come by Openhouse Gallery's new space at 379 Broome Street to have all of your preconceived notions turned on their heads when street artists Icy and Sot throw down to open their exhibition, which will run through through the 25th of August.

Iranian artists (and skaters!) Icy and Sot have covered cities like Paris, Sao Paolo and of course NYC in their artwork.  Their intricate stencil pieces, which reflect a culture where artists still fight an uphill battle, ooze emotional conflict with intense themes like the balance between hope and despair, and war and peace.  Drop by from 6 to 9pm on August 23rd to check out their work and support!
