Inside the Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Pop Up Shop in Soho, NYC

Polka dots and tentacles is a concise description of the Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Pop Up Shop which occupies half of Louis Vuitton's Soho location on Greene Street.  The store opening and collection release happened in conjunction with the Yayoi Kusama retrospective at New York City's famed Whitney Museum and started just under a week ago.  The line features shoes, bags, ready to wear and a special book all adorned in polka dots and Louis Vuitton logos.

Before you even enter the shop, you're greeted by a creepily realistic statue of Kusama (LV bag in hand) in the store window.  Once you're inside, it's difficult to miss the theme.  The spacious retail floor has been covered in polka-dotted tentacle statues among which sit clothing racks and display tables covered in the limited edition Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama Collection.

We could try and explain what was for sale with witty remarks but the collection is very straight forward: LV luxury apparel covered in circles available in yellow, blue and red, occasionally with the Louis Vuitton monogram worked in.  With the exception of just a few items, the line will be very challenging to wear on a normal day.  Take a look at the pictures below and let us know what you think in the comments.
